Wessex Grain, the recently acquired farm grain buying business trading across south & south west England, is already seeing the benefit of its ownership by Cefetra with an increase in its export programme. A number of vessels have completed journeys with Malting Barley, OSR, Milling Oats and Feed Barley destined for European ports.
Simon Wilcox of Wessex Grain commented “Our consistent export programme has again seen a number of vessels being loaded out of south coast ports. This has helped farmers across the south and south west move some of their large harvest and has supported their marketing plans and cash flows.
“Further vessels are scheduled in early 2016 and we are working closely with our new owners Cefetra to increase the tonnage we export. The challenge in a year of a large exportable surplus has always been to find new customers and opportunities and Cefetra with its strong partnerships across Europe have already opened up new markets for us.
